[Case Study] Introduction of Model 329 6DOF LT System
We are contributing to the development of next-generation electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles.
The Fraunhofer Institute LBF, based in Darmstadt, Germany, is a research institution specializing in the evaluation of structural durability and system reliability of components aimed at safety, primarily used in the European automotive industry. It serves as a major research institution and contract testing laboratory, as well as a development partner for automobile manufacturers. Currently, automobile manufacturers are focusing on the development of a wide range of next-generation electric vehicles, but the testing systems for the body structure of electric vehicles must be capable of accurately applying significant loads and braking forces in both vertical and longitudinal directions. In spring 2009, LBF began an initiative to integrate the MTS Model 329 6DOF LT system, part of the MTS Model 329 spindle-coupled load simulator family, into its existing testing facilities with the support of MTS. By February 2010, installation and setup were completed, and full operation commenced. With the introduction of the MTS Model 329 6DOF LT system, LBF became the only contract research laboratory in Germany to provide complete body structure testing for automobile manufacturers.
